Dinner @ Spicy hotpot
The mala soup is in the background, while the normal soup which was supposed to be milky white became tainted by the mala soup after awhile.. . Very yummy stuff. No rice needed.. Our stomaches were filled by the meat, mushrooms, vegies and gravy.
This Huo Guo place is SUPER DUPER! We found it by chance on the 1st nite.. walked past and saw many ppl dining there so we decided to plunge in. A pot of single type soup costs 5Y (S$1) or dual type soup 10Y(S$2)!! Then we took a metal tray to choose the food that we liked. They counted by the number of sticks you ate. The ends of each stick was red or not coloured. Red ones are pricier at 1Y (S$0.20) and normal ones were 1 jiao (S$0.02). YESH, we had a feast there! Benny, jackie and weipeng chose to have some local beer while stuart juz went for a trusty cola.
Jackie loved the mala soup.. Weipeng loved everything. Benny was slaughtered by the mala soup and Stuart especially enjoyed the mushrooms.. Angela will luv this for sure!
The numbing effect of the spicy hotpot is good, coupled with many sauces and exotic meat. The marination of the meat was damn good, not to mention that vegetables soaked up the hotpot's gravy nicely. The Mala soup (Numb-spicy soup) lived up to its name.. It was more numb than spicy.. how that can be is unbeknownst to us.
Hearty meal and it only cost 130RMB with 3 beers and 3 bottled drinks. Marvelous!
