Le Shan Buddha

After the climbing and trekking at Ermei shan, we decided that we needed a break! So for the Le Shan buddha (Filmed on Feng Yun), we took a ferry to pass by and view instead! That turned out to be a good move as there was a huge human traffic jam in the park enroute to the main attraction, the Buddha statue. The descending stairs had only one lane and was very steep and the elderly and children had to take very careful steps thus holding up many tour groups behind them. Fortunately, we avoided that.. and took only an 45 minutes to see the Buddha, which otherwise could have taken us 3 hours!

Following that, we managed to siam all the touts. There were many! Selling all sorts of similar lookin' souvenirs, bus tickets to town, meals and lodging! Everything. Touting diminishes the enjoyment of tourism.. But yet again, it seems inevitable that worthwhile tourist spots will bring in these job opportunities too.
